Read "King Thebaw and the ecological rape of Burma" by C.L. Keeton. Don't get confused by the title. It was BBTC (Bombay Burma Trading Corporation) of the British that conducted the rape. The British stole crores of ruppes of teak from Burma by bribing few officers. As the King protested war broke out and the Burmese king along with his family was kidnapped from his palace and shifted to Ratnagiri via Chennai (then Madras).
